Compatibility

Important: This RGB modification board is designed for compatible NTSC Nintendo 64 consoles only. Not all N64 consoles are supported.

• Compatible motherboard revisions: NUS-CPU-01, NUS-CPU-02, NUS-CPU-03, and NUS-CPU-04.
• Your motherboard must have a VDC-NUS or VDC-NUS A video chip at position U4.
• PAL consoles are generally not compatible with this modification board.

How to Identify a Potentially Compatible N64

The following serial numbers and console models may help identify compatible systems. However, the serial number alone does not guarantee compatibility. Always open the console and verify the motherboard revision and video chip before purchasing or installing the board.

• USA consoles: Systems with serial numbers beginning with "NS1" are likely to be compatible.
• Japanese consoles: Systems with serial numbers beginning with "NUJ1" are likely to be compatible.
• French consoles: Some systems marked NUS-001(FRA) may be compatible.
• Canadian consoles: Some early Canadian N64 systems may contain the required video chip.
• Brazilian consoles: Some older Brazilian PAL-M systems may contain the required video chip and support this modification. Compatibility must be confirmed by checking the motherboard.

Important Compatibility Warning

Before installing, verify the following:

1. Check that your N64 motherboard is revision NUS-CPU-01, NUS-CPU-02, NUS-CPU-03, or NUS-CPU-04.
2. Locate the U4 chip on the motherboard and confirm that it is marked VDC-NUS or VDC-NUS A.
3. If your motherboard revision or video chip does not match the specifications above, do not install this modification board.

Installing this board on an incompatible console may result in improper operation or damage to the console or modification board.
